Spreading the Word: Our Message
Is the New Birth Plan that Jesus told a religious leader about (John 3:3-5), which includes a birth of water and Spirit? The church began on the Day of Pentecost, as God fulfilled his promise to pour his Spirit out upon all flesh. (Joel 2:28; Acts 2:1-4) That same promise was given to not only those who lived almost two thousand years ago, but is available to whoever will come and drink freely of the living waters. (John 7:37–39) In Acts 2, after the Disciples of the Lord had received the Holy Ghost, the convicted multitude asked men and brethren, “What must we do?” In Acts 2:38–39, Peter responded to their question, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”. He went on to say, “For the promise is unto you, your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.” God is pouring his Spirit out today, and this wonderful gift is the promise of the Father.

Bro. Robinsons Journey
Bro. Robinson is an ordained minister of the United Pentecostal Church. He and his wife Ava and children Nathaniel, Rebekah, and Jonathan came to Cleveland, TN, in 1992 to pastor the First United Pentecostal Church.
Bro. Robinson came from a denominational background, and while he had respect for and fear of God, he knew he was missing something very needed in his relationship with God. He was introduced to Pentecost at the age of 19 years old. He was invited to a church that seemed to worship freely and genuinely. A short time later, he received his personal Pentecost, and what a life-changing experience it has been. A short time after that, he was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Pentecost: A Salvation Experience
Pentecost, from the Greek word for the fiftieth day, was a Jewish feast called the Feast of Harvest, fifty days after Passover. At the Last Supper, Jesus revealed that He came to earth as the sacrificial lamb for the world's sins. His sacrifice on Calvary purchased salvation. After three days, Jesus rose from the dead, and on Pentecost, the disciples received the Holy Ghost. Peter proclaimed that this fulfilled Joel's prophecy. The crowd asked, "What shall we do?" (Acts 2:37)
Peter then proclaimed the salvation message: Repent and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)
This salvation experience is a life-changing experience that is still real today.
